I've been involved to some degree in the local (Columbus, OH) Infragard
meetings. The primary value I've seen is in the the people-networking,
and in bringing together the technical and non-technical (e.g. law
enforcment)
crowds in a local community. As with anything, you generaly get out
what
you put in.

Yes. Tom Lehrer quoted his friend Hen3ry [the '3' was silent you see],
who was then staying in the Massachusetts State Home for the Terminally
Bewildered, with many positive, uplifting statements like: "Life is
like a sewer. You only get out of it what you put into it."

;-}

Life has very few absolutes. Privacy is not one of them. [Sorry,
Vin.] I sacrifice privacy to live in a community. But I will only go
so far in sacrificing it: I will not compromise it to allow random
perusal at will of anything of mine. Having said that, I will also say
that I have nothing which I will not let anyone who asks to peruse.
Contradictory? No.

I think it is in this spirit that people take part in efforts like
this. And, as Vin realized - or partly realized - EVERYONE is in there
with a slightly different agenda, just as in every organization since
Adam and Eve glanced at the apple tree.

Eh?
